Monks of Tibetan monastic university Drepug Gomang will build the sand mandala of the Buddha of boundless compassion for habitans of Moscow in the Central House of the Artist on Krymskyi val from October, 3rd till October, 11th.
Monks travel across Russia with the festival «Russia - India - Tibet» which passes in five cities this year: Perm, Krasnoyarsk, Ulan-Ude, Kazan, St.-Petersburg and Moscow. The project is directed on rendering assistance to the Russian and Tibetan children who are without parents.
Monks of Drepung Gomang have finished the big program in Kazan last week where they have built a sand mandala of the Buddha of Medicine in the House of People`s Friendship of Republic Tatarstan. During visit to Kazan the Tibetan monks have taken part in a conference “Kazan - is a city of harmonious dialogue of cultures”. Participants of the conference - the head of Tibetan delegation Otog Rinpoche, the assistant to mufti of Tatarstan of religious questions Sulejman Zaripov, the head of department on affairs of religions Renat Valiullin and the representative of Evangelichesko-Lutheran church of Katerin Victor Ditsem have discussed questions of peaceful co-existence of various religious faiths. The Tibetan visitors also have visited the Krestovozdvizhensky cathedral and have met its prior Abbot Pitirim.
Lama Otog Rinpoche has shared impressions of visiting of Kazan. «Inhabitants of Tatarstan and Kazan are very friendly and hospitable people. Representatives of various faiths peacefully co-exist in Kazan. And it pleases me indeed. If spiritual leaders are friendly, it will serve as kind act, and the people following the religious instructors will live in peace», - he has noted.
The sand mandala of the Buddha of Medicine has been destroyed on September, 20th according to the Tibetan rituals, the part of the blest sand has been brought to the water spirits. Monks poured out multi-coloured grains of sand in the river Khaban. The blest grains of sand also were given out to the numerous visitors.
