The Traditional Tibetan medicine studies the disease as an imbalance in a single integrated system, which is the man. Everything is connected in the bod. If one part of the body is not okay, other parts will never function normally. «Everything that the remedy does is directed at restoring the balance of elements and their balance is the essence health and well-being» ( «Chzhud-Shi» - classical Tibetan medical treatise, additional Tantra). The reason for all the diseases comes from the imbalance in the three regulatory systems of organism, these are known as Mucus, Bile, Wind. They are called the constitution or dosha. Wind includes the nervous system, gall includes the digestion, Mucus - the lymphatic system. «When dosha is stable, they aren’t seen as the causes of disease, but as soon as the balance between them is broken, they are the essence of illness». «There is no disease, not caused by dosha» ( «Chzhud-shek», Tantra of Explanations). Thousand years long experience of successful treatment, deep knowledge of the nature of the body and  causes of disease makes it possible for doctors of Tibetan medicine to achieve a remarkable efficiency in cases where Western medicine is powerless.
An important part of Tibetan medicine is deep connection with the philosophy of Buddhism, which provides a strong spiritual foundation. Health, like happiness is an internal category. The preservation of health is the task of the individual, in the first place. Nobody and nothing in the world can affect persons’ health, as the person himself. The path to recovery begins with letting ignorance go, because it is the the base for any disease. The ignorance is the cause of the poisons of the soul - the ignorance, anger and passion (various fears, phobias, delusions, attachments), which lead to painful disorders in the body. Diseases may occur either in the form of disturbance of constitutions (Jan-state), or in the form of their depletion (Yin-state). The progress of diseases is also known as “hot” and “cold” scenario. «To confuse these scenarios means to destroy another's life» ( «Chzhud-shek»). The doctor of Tibetan medicine always sees his patients as a unique person. There are never two identical cases as there are never to identical persons.
